PEX Inclusion Repealed; Revised EIR Submitted for Approval and Reinstatement

Based on the ongoing judicial process for full PEX (crosslinked polyethylene) adoption, the California Building Standards Commission (CBSC) repealed PEX inclusion in the California Plumbing Code, effective July 1, 2010.

Although this court-ordered action is disappointing, it does not mean that PEX cannot be installed in California. The CBSC action to repeal PEX approval does not relate to any already-approved jobs or to work done under local ordinances, regulations or alternate material provisions.
